The Comparative Analysis of Sprouted Legume and Cereal Based Composite Diet

چکیده
In developing countries like Nigeria, protein energy malnutrition (PEM) is endemic. Protein energy malnutrition is more among children because, they are weaned abruptly into starchy foods. The formulation and development of nutritious complementary foods from local and ready available raw materials has received considerable attention in many developing countries. The commercially standardize foods are generally very good and can help meet the nutritional requirements of young children in both developed and developing countries. However, the development of low cost, high protein food supplements for weaning countries where traditional foods used during the weaning process are frequently characterized by low nutrient density and high bulk which can adversely affect infant’s health [1].

Iron deficiency due to consumption of a habitual diet low in bioavailable iron: a longitudinal cohort study in Moroccan children.
BACKGROUND In many developing countries, cereal and legume-based diets contain low amounts of bioavailable iron, which may increase the risk of iron deficiency. OBJECTIVE The objective was to measure change in iron status in Moroccan children who consumed their habitual diet containing low amounts of bioavailable iron. DESIGN The design was a prospective, longitudinal, free-living cohort st...

Background and purpose:Protein quality of cereal/legume mixtures resultsin nutrient profiles. Regarding to the importance of foodprotein quality, this study was conducted to compare protein valueof two samples of home made food (based on semolina spaghetti + soybean and nole spaghetti + soybean mixed) with Cerelac - based on wheat (commercial baby food) in Rats. Materials and methods:Experim...
متن کاملEffect of Cereal Type and Enzyme Addition on Performance, Pancreatic Enzyme Activity, Intestinal Microflora and Gut Morphology of Broilers
The effects of grain and carbohydrase enzyme supplementation were investigated on digestive physiology of chickens. A total of 625 one-day-old chicks (Ross 308) were randomly assigned to five treatments in a completely randomized design. Treatments included two different types of grains (wheat, and barley) with or without a multi-carbohydrase supplement. A corn-based diet was also considered to...

In a former publication1 we have shown that the proteins of the navy bean do not markedly supplement those of the maize kernel so as to improve their quality for the support of growth. This means that the proteins of this cereal and legume seed are both deficient in some of the same indispensable amino-acids. Our earlier studies also indicated that the cereal proteins do not have much of a supp...

The mechanical stability is an important phenomenon which governs many applications based properties of membranes. The inorganic materials of membrane may have been synthesized by qualitative the novel sol-gel or co-precipitation methods of material synthesis. The mMembranes of cobalt (CP) and nickel (NP) composites have been was designed by mixing of the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with cobalt ph...
